Edinburgh has just had a very long-awaited and much-needed downpour, albeit a brief one. I happened to look out of my kitchen window and noticed these pigeons on the railings outside, clearly enjoying the shower. I'm sure pigeons don't always like rain much, but no doubt it's a great relief to them after the prolonged warm and dry spell we've had. ( Read more... )

The weather was dull and grey and distinctly cooler than it's been lately as I made my way to the Oxfam bookshop early this afternoon, but when I left at getting on for six, the sun had come out again.
